Charcoal
Charcoal is growing more frail each day. These are the last days of her life.
Her mind is alert and her appetite is good but there is so little left of her--just bones and that magnificient coat--still gorgeous even now at this extremity.
She is happy--purring and greeting us--so I can't feel sorry for her. She has had a good life with us for these past fifteen years. But biology is failing her and there is no remedy for mortality.
I only hope that her end is quick and easy.
