Been away for a long time and so sorry to hear about Frannie!
I had to put my eldest down in June. Apu was going on 15. Diagnosed with diabetes in January. Just got him stabilized in April and we were going along smoothly until he developed heart issues and significant fluid around his heart and lungs. He was a cantankerous old guy but I miss him and still look for him sometimes when I walk in the door.
I am retired and living with my similarly-retired husband near the town of Homer, Alaska. We have built our home in the woods and live there at peace with our neighbors and our cats.
Oh, yeah. We have cats. Lots of them. Not on purpose. Generally they just happened, one at a time. Up here, when someone comes to your door in the winter, you let them in. You'd do the same, I hope.

What a wonderful sight...I love snuggling kitties :-)
It IS indeed a wonderful sight - I guess the humans it on the floor, huh? ;)
Now those look like happy cats - and a good use of space! Is that another kitty I see in the cat bed to the left?
Good call--that's Midget (aka Midge) in the cat bed in front of the wood stove. I'm sure the heat feels good on her old, injured bones.
