I'm glad I'm not the only one who's experienced this! My poor cat Princess had one on each ear. The vet lady (office witch) said it was from ear mites, but there never were any ear mites. I checked.
Another of my cats, Fluffy, has warts and polyps in her ears. The new vet said she has "itchy ears" and is subject to the same thing - hematomas.
