Fred
Our dear old Fred just keeps on keeping on.
Since he came to live with us some sixteen years ago, he is probably eighteen years old by now. He has turned into a skinny old man. We had him checked for hyperthyroid a couple months ago but aside from (probably predictable) elevated kidney values, he checked out okay. I give him fluids under the skin every day or so but he doesn't absorb it well. Still, it seems to keep him feeling chipper. He seems to have lost a lot of his hearing but he is alert and bright and has a vigorous appetite.
I know we don't have a lot of time left with Fred, but we have had many good years behind us.
