And I Alone Remain...

Frieda in the backyard

Frieda is now the lone survivor of her family.

She amazes me. Summer has revitalized her--so we try to make sure she gets a chance to be outside for a little bit when the weather is nice.

After her sister died, Frieda moved from her own snug retreat to her sister's final bed. For a week, that was where she wanted to sleep and be fed. Maybe it made her feel closer to Cissy.

Frieda has done well Laura and this photo of her on the grass with the dandelions is lovely. My cats often curl up in each other's beds, not for long necessarily but almost to soak up their smell, to feel part of the family. Frieda knows what has happened and I'm sure it was her way of expressing her grief too.

Frieda looks like she is enjoying th sun. She must miss her sis, her bed must comfort her much.
I'm glad Frieda feels like enjoying the outside. The sun must feel so good to her. She's a pretty girl..

Isn't it eerie how they seem to know about death and dying? So glad she is able to be outside and enjoy the sunshine during her final days.
